Surrounding District

Sea Drift is ideally situated for your stay on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Portree, the main town in Skye with its shops and restaurants, is only 16 miles to the south and Uig, the ferry port for the Outer Hebridean islands, 7 miles to the north. Dunvegan, with its castle and coral beach, and all other districts are within easy reach either by car or public transport.

There are two general supply shops within 200 yards of the house, where you can pick up provisions for your stay. The Flodigarry Hotel Public Bar is 4 miles to the north and The Glenview Hotel restaurant is half a mile to the south.

Situated in the middle of the Trotternish area, the Quiraing cuts the skyline and is within easy reach for the traveller. With its many walks and interesting ridges, the Quiraing has to be on your list of things to do. Just as the Old Man of Storr is also an experience and should also be on that list! On the way to the Old Man of Storr, remember to stop off at Kilt Rock and see the magnificent waterfall and the interesting basalt columns. Taking the longer route round the top of the island, you will be able to see Flora Macdonald's grave and the outstanding Museum of Island Life. There are also the ruins of Duntulm castle, the 17th century seat of the chiefs of Clan Macdonald of Sleat.
